§ 10-22. Members.

  • (a)

    The building trades board shall consist of five members, each of whom shall be appointed by the city council. Each member shall possess the following qualifications at the time of appointment and during his/her tenure on the board:

    (1)

    A resident of the City of Stillwater;

    (2)

    Employed as an architect, engineer, or general building contractor, or, is a person licensed by the city in one of the trades regulated by the uniform codes adopted in chapter 10; and

    (3)

    Has the ability to attend hearings convened with a minimum of 48 hours notice.

    (b)

    Members of the board shall serve for overlapping terms of four years and thereafter until their respective successors have been appointed and qualify. The term for each member shall begin on July 1. Provided, however, the terms of members appointed under the revisions set forth in Ordinance 3187 shall initially commence October 1, 2012. The duration of such initial terms shall be apportioned as follows: two members shall be appointed for a term of four years; one member shall be appointed for a term of three years; one member shall be appointed for a term of two years; and one member shall be appointed to a term of one year. At the conclusion of each initial term, the member shall be eligible for reappointment to a full four-year term in accordance with this section.
