§ 12-303. Register and tickets.

  • Every pawnbroker shall keep at his place of business, in writing or print, a description of all property taken, purchased or received by him, together with the date and time of the transaction and the name and place of residence of the person leaving the property. A duplicate pawn or seller's bill of sale transaction ticket shall suffice. Every entry shall be made in ink and shall not be obliterated or erased and shall be completed at time of transaction. A duplicate copy will also be provided to the police department of all pawns and purchases. A pawnbroker shall not be required to furnish such description of any property purchased from manufacturers or wholesale dealers or of any goods purchased at open sale or from any bankrupt stock or from any other person having an established place of business, provided that such goods shall be accompanied by a bill of sale.
