§ 2-584. Signing of warrants and other obligations.

  • (a)

    The city manager is hereby authorized to sign municipal checks and to appoint a deputy to sign municipal checks, certificates of indebtedness, or other obligations for the payment of money, except municipal bonds. The appointment of such deputy for the purpose of signing such instruments shall be made by the city manager in writing, and such appointment shall be filed with the city clerk.

    (b)

    The city manager and his deputy are hereby designated and authorized to be the sole and only officers empowered by this city to sign municipal checks, certificates of indebtedness, or other obligations for the payment of money, except municipal bonds, subject to the countersigning of the same by the city clerk as set forth in the statutes of the state.
