§ 43-1. Definitions.

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Taxicab means a motor vehicle regularly engaged in the business of carrying passengers for hire, and not operated on a fixed route.

Vehicle for hire means any and all motor vehicles used by any person within the corporate limits for carrying passengers for hire, or held out to the public for hire except those vehicles duly licensed by the state in interstate business.
