§ 2-48. Order of business.

  • (a)

    Promptly at the hour set by law on the day of each regular meeting, the members of the city council, the city manager, the city attorney and the deputy city clerk shall take their regular stations in the city council chambers; and the business of the city council shall be taken up for consideration and disposition in the following order:

    (1)

    Roll call.

    (2)

    Approval of minutes of previous meeting.

    (3)

    Approval of consent agenda items.

    (4)

    Public comment on agenda items not scheduled for public hearing.

    (5)

    Items removed from the consent agenda.

    (6)

    Public hearings.

    (7)

    General orders.

    (8)

    Resolutions.

    (9)

    Ordinances.

    (10)

    Reports from officers.

    (11)

    Questions and inquiries.

    (12)

    Appointments.

    (13)

    Adjournment.

    (b)

    The presiding officer may alter the order of business during a meeting whenever necessary.
