Latest version.
  • (a)

In all areas of the city where there are open unobstructed alleys wide enough for garbage collection vehicles to travel with ease, garbage containers shall, at all times, be kept and maintained at the alley lot line on the premises served so as to be immediately accessible to the collection vehicles. In all other areas of the city, garbage containers shall, at all times, be kept and maintained not further than 100 feet from the curb or edge of the street adjacent to the premises served. No garbage shall be collected which is not contained in a container meeting the requirements of section 41-642 unless such garbage is placed at the curb or edge of the street adjacent to the premises served. Garbage containers shall, at all times, be kept sufficiently anchored to prevent their being tipped over by dogs or cats.

    (c)

All garbage containers placed at curbside for collection shall be placed within five feet from the back of curb or edge of paved or graveled surface not more than 12 hours prior to the day of collection and shall be moved off of the right-of-way before the end of the day of collection by city crews.

    (d)

In locations where it is impossible to place the containers within five feet of the curb or edge of pavement or gravel due to some obstacle, the sanitation director may designate a location that is acceptable for curbside collection.
